This presentation will review the evolution of dental implant surgery from a traditional freehand approach to a computer-aided one. Implant surgery using CAD/CAM surgical templates has become widely used, and now, a new technology, dynamic navigation, is gaining popularity. Workflow and cases studies will be presented.

Navigated Guided Surgery: Optimizing Implant Placement

Navigated Guided Technology is the only modality currently available to dental surgeons that allows for real time verification and validation of implant positional accuracy. Attendees will learn about surgical navigation, clinical protocols.The navigation workflow and how it is mastered, from diagnosis, CT scan, treatment plan as well as “Trace Registration” will be presented in addition to case presentations.

- Understand how to calibrate any dental instrument to navigate in real time
